♠Who is Ruth Bader Ginsburg?
RBG was an associate justice of the Supreme Court nominated by President Bill Clinton. She was on the federal bench for 25 years before passing this September. RBG was the second woman to ever serve the US Supreme Court. Aside from this she was a leading voice for gender equality, women's interests, civil rights, and liberties. She also advocated as a volunteer attorney for the American Civil Liberties Union. Finally, she successfully fought against gender discrimination and she unified the liberal block of the court while on the federal bench.
♠Early Life
Ruth Joan Bader, the second daughter of Nathan and Cecelia Bader grew up in a low-income, working class neighborhood in Brooklyn, New York. Ginsburg's family was Jewish. Ginsburg's mother, a major influence in her life, taught her the value of independence and a good education.
